As the cannabis industry begins to mature nationwide it’s apparent that African Americans, who have objectively suffered the most from unjust marijuana laws, are becoming the least likely to benefit from legal sales. Systemic economic racism and discrimination are excluding black business owners from equal opportunity within the cannabis industry.
With social equity programs varying in success there needs to be a better system in every state to ensure African Americans benefit from the plant they’ve sacrificed so much for. We don’t know what that perfect solution is, but we are willing to help get there any way possible.
